Congratulations to Nia Dean and her SDIT “Penny” for earning the honor of April Team of the Month. Penny is an inquisitive and energetic dog who never misses a beat. She loves to look around and watch what is going on in the classroom, and Nia has worked exceptionally hard on getting Penny to re-focus on her instead. This past month, Nia and Penny have made the greatest improvement of any team in mastering the “Look” command. This is essential for Penny to learn, so that she will be able to focus on her handler and work with distractions. We are pleased to report that with the constant patience and love of Nia, Penny has indeed mastered this skill and we are noticing daily improvements in her other skills as well. Paws up to Nia for doing such an outstanding job with Penny.
